Jagan insists on Lokesh’s resignation, CBI probe

Amaravati: YSRCP president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday renewed his demand for the resignation of education minister Nara Lokesh and a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in DSC 2025, asserting that the recruitment process was riddled with unprecedented violations and that jobs were handed out to candidates who did not even write the examinations.

Addressing a press conference at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, Jagan questioned the “conspicuous silence” of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Lokesh on the issues repeatedly raised by the opposition. He said fresh irregularities in the teacher recruitment process were surfacing “day after day,” indicating a deeper malaise.

Jagan alleged that the government was deliberately weakening the investigation into the DSC scam and asked why the Chief Minister was “trying to protect his son.” He accused the administration of “playing with the lives and futures of unemployed youth” by allowing questionable practices to dictate recruitment.

Raising specific concerns, he asked why the preparation and supervision of DSC examination papers were entrusted to a single individual and why the government introduced GO No. 4 and GO No. 47. He questioned the rationale behind altering these GOs after the recruitment process concluded.

Jagan said 372 posts under the sports quota were filled without conducting any examination. According to him, GO No. 4 and GO No. 47 “opened the gates for irregularities,” while GO Nos. 23, 25 and 56 were brought in later “to close those gates after the work was done.”

He alleged that jobs were given away in violation of norms and claimed that the coalition government stalled APPSC exams after the DSC controversy erupted, fearing exposure of similar practices. “Jobs were given based on participation certificates for tournaments that never took place,” he said, calling DSC 2025 “a gem in Chandrababu’s list of scams.”

Jagan accused the government of misleading the legislature and said officials were “running out of words” to defend the recruitment process. He cited case-by-case examples, including 39 sports quota appointments allegedly based on fake certificates. He claimed certificates for judo events in Khammam and softball tournaments were fabricated, and that individuals linked to Lokesh’s family headed the associations issuing them.

He also pointed to alleged irregularities in Kho-Kho certificates and cited cases from Kurnool and Kadapa districts where candidates reportedly secured jobs despite not meeting TET or reservation criteria.
