Anantapur: District Collector and District Election Officer O Anand announced on Wednesday that all administrative and security arrangements have been fully finalized for the ZPTC and MPTC elections scheduled across Anantapur district on Thursday.
Accompanying District Superintendent of Police P Jagadeesh, the Collector conducted a comprehensive inspection of the primary election material distribution center established at JNTU in Anantapur city. During the inspection, Collector Anand instructed returning officers and field teams to complete the distribution of polling materials, including ballot boxes, official documentation, and electoral kits, by Wednesday evening without delay.
The Collector emphasized that material distribution was proceeding systematically under the direct supervision of zonal and route officers. He confirmed that essential amenities—including food, temporary accommodation, and shamiana tents—have been set up at all distribution centers so that polling staff experience no operational inconvenience. He reported that no incidents or logistical bottlenecks have occurred anywhere in the district.
SP Jagadeesh stated that a robust security framework has been established to ensure peaceful, incident-free voting. Police escort units have been deployed to safeguard the transit of polling materials and staff to their designated polling stations.
Authorities reiterated that all arrangements have been streamlined to facilitate a transparent and smooth polling environment for voters and election personnel across all rural constituencies in the district.
Rural MPDO and other senior revenue and police officials participated in the inspection drive.
