Anantapur: Bukkarayasamudram hosted a special event for the International Day of Older Persons on Thursday. Organized by the Senior Citizens Welfare Department, the program featured the District Revenue Officer and DLSA Secretary Rajashekhar, who detailed legal rights under the 2007 Senior Citizens Act.
Health officials stressed regular medical check-ups for seniors, while association members advocated for social inclusion and dignity.
Attendees were briefed on welfare schemes, ID cards, assistive devices, and maintenance tribunals. Medical officers, pensioners’ representatives, and numerous elderly individuals participated in the statewide observance.
