ACB searches five more locations in NIMS DA case
The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday continued searches at multiple locations in Hyderabad as part of its investigation into a disproportionate assets case registered against Nori Lakshmi Bhasker, Additional Medical Superintendent/Additional Professor at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad.
The case, registered on September 21, 2026, was booked under Section 13(1)(b) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. According to ACB, in continuation of the earlier searches, and based on search warrants issued by the Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Hyderabad, ACB officials conducted searches on September 29 at five different locations in and around Hyderabad.
“The locations included the residences of persons suspected by investigators to be benamis, who allegedly had financial and other transactions with the accused officer,” said an officer at ACB adding the officer said several documents and other items allegedly connected to suspected benami assets were seized during the searches.
The ACB stated that Rs 4,94,394 in cash was seized from the residence of Dhanraj, an employee of NIMS. Officials also found documents relating to three agricultural land parcels in Maheshwaram, valued at approximately Rs 57 lakh.
Documents relating to an open plot in Venkateswara Cooperative Housing Society at MLA Colony, Banjara Hills, valued at approximately Rs 2.70 crore, were also found during the searches.
Furthermore, the ACB said documents relating to two investments amounting to Rs 20 lakh were found in the names of D Ganesh, an outsourcing employee of NIMS, and others. Receipts relating to an alleged hand loan of Rs 3 lakh were also found.
The ACB said verification of additional assets is currently underway and that the case remains under investigation.
Earlier during the searches, it found several movable and immovable assets with a total document value of around Rs 6.13 crore. The properties include a four-bedroom flat, two three-bedroom flats, five two-bedroom flats, and four open plots and one open plot in Andhra Pradesh.
The ACB also found bank balances of about Rs 41 lakh, post-office deposits of Rs 12 lakh, and investments of Rs 35 lakh in private financial and mutual funds of about Rs 29.55 lakh. ACB officials also identified approximately 517.8 grams of gold ornaments, besides four-wheelers, including a Jaguar, Audi.
