Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday launched a strong attack on the BRS, accusing the previous regime of failing to translate Telangana’s resources and revenues into meaningful welfare and development for ordinary people during its decade in power.
Speaking after inspecting the ongoing works of the Gaddipalli Integrated School in Suryapet district, Bhatti said the Congress government was investing heavily in education, food security, healthcare, electricity, housing and social security to ensure that the benefits of Telangana’s resources reached poor and middle-class families.
Taking direct aim at the previous BRS government, Bhatti asked what it had accomplished during its 10-year tenure.“When you were in power for 10 years, did you build even one such school anywhere?” he asked, alleging that the previous government had failed to convert the state’s resources and revenues into tangible benefits for ordinary families.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said people across Telangana were witnessing the difference between the Congress government’s promises and actual delivery.
He asserted that the Congress would return to power for a second consecutive term, saying the government’s welfare and development programmes were strengthening its bond with the people.
The minister said the Congress government was implementing programmes aimed at improving the lives of farmers, students, poor families and rural communities while simultaneously taking up major irrigation and infrastructure projects. He said the government’s performance would speak for itself and expressed confidence that the people of Telangana would once again give the Congress an opportunity to govern the State.
