CM Revanth Reddy firms up steps for Ganesh festivities

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has instructed the authorities to make fool-proof arrangements for the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi festivities. High security measures would be enforced during idol immersion processions to avoid untoward incidents across the city.

At a high-level meeting on Saturday, the Chief Minister asked police officials to monitor the movements of VIPs at Ganesh pandals during the festivities to prevent traffic jams and other local problems. Stating that the government was providing free power supply to all pandals in the state, the Chief Minister appealed to the pandal organisers and committees to hold a meeting with local officials to address issues, if any, during the procession and cultural events at night at the pandals.

The Chief Minister enquired from officials details of the arrangements made for Bathukamma at the lakes and instructed them that similar precautions be taken during the immersion of Ganesh idols.

Officials of the GHMC, MMC and CMC briefed the Chief Minister about the extra safety measures taken for deploying cranes at the lakes for immersing idols in the lakes. Special instructions were issued to the Municipal Administration and Police Departments for continuous supervision until the festivities conclude. A control room would be set up at the Command Control Center and special officers appointed for supervision and coordination. Emphasising the maintenance of peace in the city was important for investments, Revanth Reddy said that care must be taken to ensure there is no disruption to law and order. Cooperation among all the organisers is essential, the Chief Minister said and added that the government is ready to resolve any issues that may arise.
