Cong deploys 77 observers for Graduate MLC polls
Hyderabad: Aiming to secure victory across two Graduate MLC elections scheduled for March 2027, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee appointed ministers, MLAs, MPs, and MLCs as constituency observers across 77 Assembly segments falling under the Hyderabad–Ranga Reddy–Mahabubnagar and Warangal–Khammam–Nalgonda Graduate MLC constituencies.
TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud issued official orders on Tuesday directing appointed observers to oversee the enrolment of eligible graduate voters ahead of upcoming elections to the Telangana Legislative Council. The structural appointments take immediate effect across all designated districts.
Under party directives, observers must coordinate closely with local party leaders and district stakeholders to maximize graduate voter registration in line with organizational goals. The Congress party appointed sitting MLAs as observers within their respective Assembly constituencies. In segments where the party lacks legislative representation, leaders, including MLAs, MPs, and MLCs from non-contesting constituencies, were assigned operational responsibilities. For instance, Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy was appointed observer for Jangaon Assembly constituency, currently represented by a BRS legislator.
The Congress leadership also designated party observers across several constituencies represented by former BRS MLAs who defected to the Congress. As part of this organizational strategy, Warangal MP Kadiyam Kavya was appointed observer for Station Ghanpur, currently represented by her father Kadiyam Srihari.
Similarly, MLC Shankar Naik was appointed observer for Bhadrachalam, Baswaraj Saraiah for Gadwal, Kavvampally Satyanarayana for Chevella, Medipally Satyam for Rajendra Nagar, and Adi Srinivas for Serilingampalli. Through these strategic appointments, the party leadership aims to strengthen grassroots coordination at the Assembly constituency level and intensify voter registration drives ahead of the Graduate MLC polls.
