Hyderabad: Elite Action Group for Drugs Law Enforcement officials cracked down on toddy compounds selling drink adulterated with Alprazolam, registering cases under the NDPS Act against owners and staff. During raids, EAGLE uncovered an interstate network spanning Telangana, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra. Operations yielded substantial Alprazolam seizures, arrests, financial investigations, and property forfeitures linked to drug proceeds, revealing Rs 3 crore in transactions for transporting drugs to toddy shops.

Nizamabad Rural Police arrested Gandham Srinivas Goud, Botlakunta Katamaiah Goud, and Male Anil Goud, seizing 1.087 kilograms of Alprazolam and registering an NDPS case. Investigations revealed that the accused and associates acquired movable and immovable assets through illicit trafficking.

Official statements detailed Srinivas Goud long-standing involvement in procuring and supplying adulterated raw materials to Jagtial, Mahabubnagar, and Nizamabad districts. He allegedly procured Alprazolam from Rajasthan and Chloral Hydrate from Solapur, Maharashtra, storing chemical substances in residential premises and godowns before distribution.

The enforcement action underscores growing state vigilance against toxic adulteration practices threatening public health across rural pockets. Law enforcement agencies confirmed that comprehensive financial tracking and asset mapping will continue to dismantle the financial infrastructure of illicit chemical suppliers. By seizing drug proceeds and tracing interstate supply routes, authorities aim to sever the supply chain of contraband chemicals entering local beverage markets. Further inspections and legal actions remain underway to ensure complete compliance with drug enforcement regulations and safeguard consumers across all districts.
