Hyderabad: The Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) Hospital has seen a surge in the number of patients every day with over 5,000 patients visiting the hospital for the last one month.

While the average patient influx was 3,500 patients in the past, the number has jumped to over 5,000. Most of them are out patients, some are coming for tests and a few hundred as inpatients. On a single day on October 5, there were 5,635 outpatient (OP) visits, 5,088 medical investigations, and 306 inpatient (IP) admissions. According to the officials, the hospital has witnessed a significant rise in patient influx over the past month for OP and IP services, as well as for various medical investigations.

Recently, a peak of 5,635 OP patients received medical services in a single day. Similarly, the patient load in the investigations department has increased, with a record 5,088 patients undergoing various medical tests in one day. Hospital statistics also reveal that 306 patients were admitted for treatment in the IP department on a single day.
