Hyderabad: BRS working president KTR accused Congress and BJP of compromising Telangana interests by prostrating before Delhi leaderships and mortgaging state self-respect for political posts. He warned Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy against selling valuable government lands in Hyderabad, particularly 550 acres in Miyapur. Instead, he challenged the Chief Minister to honour election promises by allotting 250 square yards to families of Telangana martyrs and movement activists from the Miyapur land. He suggested using portions to build houses for urban poor, schools, colleges, and public parks while addressing Congress leaders from Serilingampally who joined BRS at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday.

Referring to the Supreme Court verdict on the 550 acres, Rama Rao questioned the haste with which Revanth Reddy announced plans to sell the land even before receiving the formal court order. He questioned why Revanth Reddy wanted to sell public assets instead of utilizing them for public welfare and housing. Criticising proposed sales of Housing Board properties and truck parking facilities, Rama Rao pointed out that Hyderabad severely lacked land for parks, water tanks, bus depots, and burial grounds.

Targeting Congress and BJP leadership, KTR stated that national party leaders displayed excessive deference to Delhi high commands. Referring to an incident involving Revanth Reddy and security personnel accompanying Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, he termed it humiliating for a Chief Minister to be pushed aside by security staff. He further criticised Union Minister Bandi Sanjay for allegedly behaving like a security guard while accompanying Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while questioning Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao for touching Shah’s feet despite being older.

KTR remarked that Congress carries bags for Delhi leaders while BJP carries their footwear, asserting that neither party safeguards Telangana dignity or interests. He questioned what Amit Shah delivered to the state during his recent visit, asking whether the Centre sanctioned any metro project, national project, or major educational institution. Cautioning voters against trusting national parties, Rama Rao warned that Telangana risked losing resources and assets to Delhi or Gujarat. He called upon citizens to safeguard state interests under the leadership of K Chandrashekhar Rao.
