KTR accuses Modi, Revanth of conspiring to privatise Singareni
In Short
Claims Singareni is denied Rs 60,000 crore in dues

BRS Working President KT Rama Rao
Hyderabad: Alleging that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy are conspiring to privatise Singareni Collieries Company Limited, BRS working president KTR stated on Wednesday that K Chandrashekar Rao remains the ultimate shield for protecting coal workers.
Addressing the Singareni Karmika Garjana Sabha in Godavarikhani, KT R accused the state government of strangling the public enterprise, leaving the company without funds even for essential equipment repairs. He claimed that Corporate Social Responsibility funds were diverted for football matches while new Power Purchase Agreements were ignored, adding that the Prime Minister remains silent on state irregularities.
KTR alleged that the Chief Minister is deliberately misrepresenting Singareni as a substandard coal producer to justify privatisation. He cited the Yadadri Power Plant, designed for 4,000 MW, which currently generates under 400 MW due to alleged artificial coal shortages.
Questioning the disappearance of 40 lakh metric tonnes of coal, KTR accused the administration of damaging agriculture and energy sectors while withholding Rs 60,000 crore owed to Singareni. He highlighted that no such shortages occurred during K Chandrashekar Rao’s tenure, blaming current troubles on Congress financial mismanagement.
Recalling the coal belt’s historical contributions, KTR commended workers for participating in a 42-day strike during the statehood movement, which proved crucial in enabling 24-hour uninterrupted power supply across Telangana. He warned that site visit certificates had harmed Singareni, alleging that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and his relative Srujan Reddy were threatening contractors.
Targeting Union Coal Minister G Kishan Reddy, KTR noted that complaints regarding regional irregularities were merely redirected back to the Chief Minister without central intervention, urging coal belt workers to unite under BRS leadership to defeat the ruling administration.
