KTR lauds Nihari Mandali’s services to burn patients
Hyderabad: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao lauded Nihari Mandali for her commendable efforts in supporting and rehabilitating individuals who face physical, mental, and financial hardships due to burn injuries.
Rama Rao described her work, which includes providing free reconstructive surgeries and instilling self-confidence in survivors as truly inspiring. KTR assured her of his personal support for this initiative and the services she provides. Nihari Mandali met KTR at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday and briefed him on the service activities undertaken by the ‘Burn Survivor Mission Savior Trust’ (BSMS), which she founded.
During the meeting, she explained the objectives of the ‘Burns to Shine–2026’ initiative, as well as the medical assistance and counseling services being provided to burn survivors. She emphasized the need for greater public awareness to help survivors overcome the discrimination and feelings of inferiority they often face in society.
Nihari Mandali, who sustained severe burn injuries in 2009, was initially unable to afford the necessary surgeries due to financial constraints. At that time, she received reconstructive surgeries free of cost with the help of doctors visiting from Germany. Driven by the resolve that no one else should have to endure the hardships she faced, she established the 'Burn Survivor Mission Savior Trust' in 2014.
