Gachibowli: Government Whip and Serilingampally MLA Arekapudi Gandhi on Friday handed over financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to, Shaik Nadeem, son of Sk Kaleelmia, who died during the recent RTC strike. He also presented the appointment letter to him as RTC constable.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA stated that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had come to the rescue of RTC employees with a humanitarian outlook and offered them many benefits. "KCR is the only Chief Minister to state that RTC workers should not be described so, but recognised as government staff. With a kind attitude, he had solved 26 issues of RTC staff. All should make combined efforts to take RTC on the path of profit and to the top spot," he stated.

Gandhi pledged to stand by the family of Kaleelmia, including education of children. A two-minute silence was observed on the occasion to pay homage to the late driver. Among those present were Kaleelmia's widow Farzana Begum, HCU Depot Manager Daivadeenam, Assistant Manager Ramayya, Mechanical Foreman Pandari, Office Superintendent Swamy, staff, former Corporator Ranga Rao, TRS leaders Raju Yadav, Uppalapati Srikanth, Erlagadda Srinivas Yadav, Mallesh Goud, Mallesh Yadav, Nagesh Goud, Venu and Ramesh.
