Hyderabad: While the Counter-Intelligence (CI) Cell officials from Telangana police are investigating the missing of service weapons from Army premises, the NIA, which probes terror related incidents, has reportedly initiated inquiries by getting details from the Hyderabad police and Indian Army officials of Cantonment area in connection with the missing weapons.

According to sources, several agencies such as Indian Army Intelligence, NIA, CI Cell and Hyderabad police are on the probe to detect the case by questioning `suspects’ and reportedly retrieved data from some mobile phones by cyber experts. “We are probing the issue in depth by collecting mobile phone data, social media IDs, posts on social media by suspects and their chats on WhatsApp. Several agencies have joined with the investigation teams to get more leads,” sources said.

A few days ago, at least 12 service weapons including ammunition were found missing from Madras Regiment premises in Army locality of Cantonment. Bollarum police registered cases following complaints received from Army officials.
