Hyderabad: BJP Telangana unit President N. Ramchander Rao on Friday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of joining hands with anti-national forces allegedly seeking “regime change” in India by triggering unrest and violence, drawing parallels with developments in Bangladesh.

Addressing the media here at the BJP state office, Rao questioned Congress’s silence over remarks allegedly made by lawyer Prashant Bhushan, All India Students Association (AISA) president Neha Bora and Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leader Abhijeet Dipke regarding regime change in India.

He warned that the citizens of the country are closely observing the efforts of certain individuals who hold the national flag in one hand while attempting to create riots and anarchy in the country backed by foreign funding.

He alleged that Rahul Gandhi and groups like “Urban Naxals” and the “Tukde-Tukde gang” were attempting to undermine democratic institutions, including the judiciary and the Election Commission of India.

Rao said political power must be secured through elections and questioned whether Congress endorsed attempts to bring about regime change through unrest.

He demanded that the party clarify its stand on the remarks and warned that its silence could invite public criticism.
