Revanth’s inept governance led to drought situation in TG: KTR
In Short
Alleges that the government remains indifferent to the severe hardships faced by farmers

BRS working president KT Rama Rao
Hyderabad: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Tuesday alleged that the present drought like situation in Telangana was because of the incompetent governance of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the negligence of his administration.
Rama Rao asserted that this was not a natural drought, but one imposed upon the people due to Revanth Reddy’s own failures. KTR alleged that the government remains indifferent to the severe hardships faced by farmers, who were grappling with shortages of irrigation water, electricity, and urea. He pointed out that while water continues to flow in the rivers, it was being allowed to drain into the sea instead of being utilized for agriculture, a clear failure of the government to provide available water resources to the farming community.
He was speaking during an event where several Congress and BJP leaders from the Nirmal constituency joined the BRS. He stated that the people of the state were eagerly awaiting the next elections, hoping to see KCR return as Chief Minister. He remarked, "One truly understands the value of light only after experiencing darkness, and one realizes the worth of a horse only after seeing a donkey."
KTR recalled that during KCR’s ten-year administration, Telangana was provided with 24-hour free electricity and robust irrigation facilities. He highlighted the BRS government schemes listing them out.
KTR recalled that during a visit to the Kannepalli pump house on June 19, 2026, he observed lakhs of cusecs of water flowing downstream and had urged the government to switch on the pumps to lift the water. However, the government failed to respond. The government is refusing to ‘press the button’ because doing so would expose the falsity of the allegations they have leveled against the Kaleshwaram project all this time.
He criticised the Chief Minister for prioritizing trips to Delhi instead of addressing the hardships faced by farmers. Mocking the Chief Minister, he said that his primary role seems to be visiting Delhi every month to ‘pay his EMI’. He quipped that Revanth Reddy was not a "regular" Chief Minister, but a ‘renewal’ Chief Minister implying that his position was only renewed once he pays his "EMI" in Delhi.
KTR has called upon BRS party leaders and workers to further strengthen the party in Nirmal. He announced that a massive public meeting will be held in Nirmal on November 11, revealing that more people are expected to join the party during this event.
