Shia devotees thronged to witness the rehearsals of the Karnataka elephant, Sudha. As part of preparations for taking out the historic Bibi Ka Alam procession on September 10, the pachyderm from neighbouring State is on its second official visit to the city after Bonalu, the previous month.

ACP Mirchowk B Anand along with other police officials made bandobast arrangements on the occasion. Bibi ka Alam caretaker, Aliuddin Arif along with devotees from Bibi Ka Alawa at Dabeerpura (from where the procession starts) took part in the rehearsals till Musi river at Chaderghat, the culminating point.

The real procession will be organised on the day of Youm-e-Ashura on September 10, the tenth day of Moharram (Islamic month) commemorating the martyrdom of Prophet Muhammad's grandson, Hazrat Imam Hussain and his companions.

In the meantime at Bibi ka Alawa, A K Khan, Advisor to State Government (Minority Affairs), Mohammed Qamaruddin, TS Minority Commission, chairman, Shahnawaz Qasim, Director, Minority Welfare Department made a visit. TS Wakf Board member, Dr Syed Nisar Hussain Hyder Agha, TS BJP spokesperson, Mir Firasath Ali Baqri, Hamid Jafferi and others were present.
