Hyderabad: Konda Surekha, who was dismissed from her ministerial post, has received summons from the Congress high command. It is believed that the call was regarding an offer of a post in the Telangana government.
She received a message from senior party leaders asking her to come to Delhi immediately. Meenakshi Natarajan, the leader in-charge of the party’s affairs in Telangana, personally spoke to Konda Surekha on Friday following her removal from the Cabinet. It appears that the party high command is considering offering her a cabinet-rank position.
Surekha was dismissed from the State Cabinet following her daughter Sushmita Patel’s outburst against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
These comments drew severe criticism within the Congress party. Though Surekha clarified that she had nothing to do with her daughter’s remarks, the Minister was shown the door.
Meanwhile, a Facebook post carrying the caption ‘Big update coming soon’ has gone viral.
Again, Konda Surekha clarified that she has no connection with that specific post.
