Hyderabad: The Telangana RTC Workers Union has been granted affiliation with the Indian National Trade Union Congress, national president and former MP G Sanjeeva Reddy announced on Wednesday. Addressing a press conference, Sanjeeva Reddy appealed to road transport corporation employees to back union president Mogulla Raji Reddy and vote for the Arrow symbol in the recognized trade union elections scheduled for October 9. He stated that the Congress party extended its full support to the union, committing to championing the demand for merging the transport corporation with the government while safeguarding the public utility.
Sanjeeva Reddy emphasized that following this affiliation, the national trade body will actively work towards strengthening organizational structures and resolving long pending employee grievances. He revealed that affiliated units SWU and TWU have joined hands under the common banner to secure victory for the alliance led by Mogulla Raji Reddy. Following the upcoming elections, both entities will formally merge to operate as a unified single organization named Telangana RTC Workers Union. Urging workforce solidarity behind the Arrow symbol, Sanjeeva Reddy assured members that concerted efforts would be made to resolve outstanding workplace issues and apply sustained pressure on the state administration to complete the corporate merger with the government.
