Hyderabad: Will TPCC President B. Mahesh Kumar Goud convince the party High Command to provide more positions to BCs among the Governor-quota MLCs, corporation chairmen and party positions, as he said the party would work to increase BC representation in the Cabinet, Legislative Council and various corporations at the OBC caste census public meeting held at Shamshabad on Sunday?

In fact, TPCC President B. Mahesh Kumar Goud is scheduled to travel to New Delhi on October 5 to attend a meeting of Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) presidents and State party in-charges convened by the AICC leadership. According to party sources, the meeting will discuss the protests being organised by the INDIA alliance across the country over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

During his visit to Delhi, Mahesh Kumar Goud is also expected to meet senior Congress leaders and the party High Command to discuss organisational and political developments in Telangana.

The TPCC president is likely to brief the leadership on the prevailing situation in the State and the functioning of the party organisation.

Discussions between the party High Command and Mahesh Kumar Goud are also expected on nominated posts and appointments to various party positions in Telangana, with the aim of finalising them, as he assured that they would be filled before the Dasara festival. The party is most likely to announce the names before the Dasara festival as a festive gift to party leaders.

Mahesh Kumar Goud is also expected to discuss the issue of Governor-quota MLC candidates, as he stated that three, or at least two, Governor-quota MLC seats would be given to BCs. The meetings are also likely to focus on strengthening the party organisation and filling pending positions.
