YouTuber Anne Rama Nandana detained at RGIA
Hyderabad: Famous YouTube influencer Anne Rama Nandana was detained at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Monday by police executing a Look Out Circular issued by Andhra Pradesh police. RGIA police, assisted by immigration staff, apprehended Nandana minutes after her arrival from the United Kingdom before handing her over to Andhra Pradesh authorities.
In 2025, Ibrahimpatnam police in NTR district registered cases against Nandana, her husband Jagarlamudi Madhukar, and her father-in-law Mohan Rao for allegedly duping a person under the pretext of renewing a UK visa. Nandana and Madhukar, natives of Guntur district who settled in the UK, are well known for creating YouTube content, while Madhukar operates a consultancy firm abroad. Ibrahimpatnam police registered the case following a complaint filed by Mallampalli Shiva Kumar.
Shiva Kumar alleged that he paid money to the family seeking assistance for the renewal of his wife UK visa. However, the couple allegedly failed to complete the renewal process or refund the collected money. Following the case registration, Nandana released a video denying the allegations, claiming the charges were false and declaring her intent to fight the matter legally. Returning to India a year after the initial complaint, Nandana was intercepted due to the active Look Out Circular requested by Andhra Pradesh police to ensure her apprehension.
Immigration officers alerted local authorities upon her arrival, leading to her immediate detention at the airport and subsequent transfer to Andhra Pradesh police officers for further legal proceedings and investigation.
