Karimnagar: An unidentified person reportedly stole a police patrol vehicle belonging to the Karimnagar Rural Police Station in the early hours, raising concerns after the vehicle was later involved in an accident near Elkathurthi in Warangal district.
According to information available, the unidentified person allegedly took the police patrol Innova from the Karimnagar Rural Police Station during midnight hours and drove it around the city through the night.
The vehicle was reportedly heading towards Warangal in the early morning when it met with an accident near Elkathurthi. On receiving information about the accident, police alerted their personnel and reached the spot. The vehicle was recovered and later shifted to the City Police Training Centre.
Police have not yet confirmed whether the person who allegedly stole the vehicle has been identified or arrested.
The incident has attracted attention as the patrol vehicle, meant for police duties and public safety, was reportedly stolen from a police station. Police are expected to provide further details regarding the incident and the circumstances surrounding the theft.
