Khammam: CEC’s effigy burnt
Khammam: The district Congress protested at Dharna Chowk on Monday, opposing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and raising allegations regarding the functioning of the Election Commission.
District Congress Committee president Nuthi Satyanarayana Goud and Urban District Congress Committee president Nagandla Deepak Chowdary led the protest, during which party leaders demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. They also burnt an effigy of the CEC and later submitted a memorandum to officials.
