Govt high school begins preps for centenary celebrations
Khammam: Preparations have begun for the grand centenary celebrations of Shantinagar Government High School, scheduled to be held on November 29.
A preparatory meeting was held on the school campus on Sunday under the chairmanship of Headmaster Challagani Krupabalanandam.
Former headmasters, teachers, alumni and members of the present teaching staff participated in the meeting and discussed arrangements for the landmark event.
Several committees were constituted to coordinate various aspects of the celebrations, including event management, invitations, alumni coordination, publicity, stage arrangements, cultural programmes and resource mobilisation. The organisers decided to involve alumni settled across India and abroad in the centenary celebrations.
The meeting also decided to organise special interactive sessions in which former students would share their achievements, experiences and career journeys with the present students. The sessions are aimed at boosting students’ confidence and motivating them to pursue higher goals.
The organisers resolved that the resources mobilised for the centenary should not be confined to the celebrations but should also contribute to the long-term development of the school.
Support from alumni, donors and well-wishers will be sought to strengthen educational and physical infrastructure of the school and provide other essential resources for students.
As part of efforts to preserve the institution’s 100-year-old history, a special exhibition featuring old photographs, historical documents and memories shared by former students and teachers will also be organised.
The participants said the centenary celebrations should showcase the school’s rich legacy while also becoming a platform to inspire future generations of students.
A collective appeal was made to alumni, teachers, students, parents and well-wishers to join hands and make the centenary celebrations a memorable event.
Former headmasters Cherukuri Krishnakumari and Baburao, teachers Raju and N. Krishnamohan, several alumni and members of the present teaching staff participated in the meeting.
