CPI to seat-share with non-NDA parties in key constituencies and local body strongholds
Nellore: The Communist Party of India (CPI) executive committee meeting held at Ramakotaiah Bhavan in Nellore on Saturday called upon party cadres to prepare aggressively for the upcoming local body elections. Chaired by CPI State Secretariat member Jangala Vijayakumar, the meeting resolved to enter into seat-sharing arrangements with non-NDA parties in constituencies and local areas where the Left party maintains a strong presence.
Addressing the gathering, Vijayakumar stated that statewide organizational meetings are being conducted to mobilize cadre for elections across municipalities, municipal corporations, mandal-level bodies, and wards.
He accused the NDA government of misusing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process to disenfranchise opposition voters, claiming that 30 lakh votes had already been deleted in Andhra Pradesh while notices were issued for another 32 lakh votes. Demanding the immediate removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, he called for the total cancellation of the SIR exercise and the restoration of deleted votes.
