BJP intensifies pressure over pending infrastructure projects
Nizamabad: Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind has launched a novel protest against the prolonged delay in completing the Madhav Nagar Railway Over Bridge (ROB), appealing to the public for contributions through social media. Addressing a demonstration organised by the Indur BJP at the site, Arvind criticised the Telangana government for failing to resolve the issue despite repeated representations. The protest was attended by Adilabad MLA Maheshwar Reddy, Nizamabad Urban MLA Dhanpal Suryanarayana, Armoor MLA Paidi Rakesh Reddy and BJP district president Dinesh Kulachari.
Approved in 2020 at an estimated cost of Rs 93.12 crore, the project involves contributions of Rs 30.05 crore from Indian Railways and Rs 63.07 crore from the State government. BJP leaders said the Centre’s share had been increased from 25 per cent to 50 per cent following Arvind’s intervention. Although Rs 2.24 crore was sanctioned for Madhav Nagar on September 30, 2026, further proposals worth nearly Rs 9 crore remain pending.
The incomplete bridge continues to cause traffic congestion, inconveniencing commuters. BJP leaders vowed to continue the agitation until the Madhav Nagar and Arsapalli ROB projects are completed.
