Collector sets March deadline for Pushkaralu preparations
Nizamabad: District Collector Ila Tripathi has directed officials to complete all civil works related to the Godavari Pushkaralu by the end of March, stressing quality and regular field inspections ahead of the religious event scheduled for June and July next year.
During an inspection with Additional Collector Bhujanga Rao on Tuesday, she reviewed ongoing works at the Triveni Sangam ghat in Kandakurthi and the proposed ghat at Yancha.
At Kandakurthi, Tripathi instructed irrigation officials to speed up construction as river water levels recede. Revenue officials were asked to monitor progress twice a week and ensure timely completion of approach roads and culverts.
At Yancha, she reviewed plans for parking, sanitation, drinking water, toilets, medical aid, electricity and changing rooms. She also directed officials to provide dedicated sheds for Pinda Pradanam and tonsuring rituals. Police patrolling and surveillance were ordered to protect ongoing works.
