Transfers fail to end bribery allegations in Nizamabad

Nizamabad: Allegations of widespread corruption in government departments across the erstwhile Nizamabad district have triggered renewed public concern, with civic groups demanding stronger administrative monitoring.

According to available records, 24 government personnel from different departments were reportedly caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) during the past 30 months. The cases include trap operations in which officials were allegedly caught accepting bribes, besides investigations into assets disproportionate to known sources of income.

The Revenue Department has faced particular criticism over allegations involving land records, titles and official certificates. Locals claim some officials continue alleged illegal collections even after being transferred.

Repeated ACB operations have put government offices on alert and highlighted concerns over accountability. Citizens and activists have urged authorities to ensure public services are delivered without demands for illicit payments.
