Rajamahendravaram: MUV Manohar assumed charge as the District Public Transport Officer (DPTO) of East Godavari district at the DPTO chamber in the Rajamahendravaram RTC Complex on Friday. Manohar previously served as Assistant Traffic Manager (Commercial) at Rajamahendravaram. He also worked as depot manager at Razole, Amalapuram and Kakinada depots in the erstwhile East Godavari district. He was serving as DPTO, Kakinada, before being transferred to East Godavari district. Speaking after assuming charge, Manohar said he would focus on providing better public transport services to passengers across the district. Bus operations would be streamlined in accordance with passenger requirements, with particular attention to punctuality, safety and improvement of passenger amenities, he said. He added that the performance of RTC depots would be reviewed regularly and steps would be taken to address suggestions and complaints received from passengers. He called upon officials, depot managers and staff to work in coordination for the development of the RTC and ensure quality services to passengers. Increasing revenue, efficient utilisation of buses and improving the service efficiency of employees would also be given priority, Manohar said.

Depot managers of Rajamahendravaram, Gokavaram, Kovvur and Nidadavole, along with DPTO office staff T Malleswara Rao, KVH Rao, B Sivakumar, AV Swamy and others congratulated him on assuming charge.
