Tirupati: The district police have put in place extensive security arrangements for the ZPTC and MPTC elections to be held on Thursday (November 5). A total of 2,617 officers and personnel have been deployed to ensure polling remains peaceful, transparent and impartial.

District Superintendent of Police L Subba Rayudu inspected polling centres in Koduru and Pullampet on Wednesday and reviewed field-level arrangements. He directed personnel to stay vigilant, coordinate effectively and immediately report any unusual incident to seniors. The SP said the force would remain fully alert until the entire process—including safe movement of ballot boxes and counting—is completed.

xSP Subba Rayudu warned of stringent action against bribery, threats, false information or any attempt to influence voters. Social media is being monitored to curb rumours. After polling, ballot boxes will be shifted under tight security to strong rooms, which will remain guarded until counting ends. Voters have been assured they can exercise their franchise freely and urged to report any problem immediately.
