Tirupati: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) organized a major protest rally in Tirupati on Saturday, vehemently protesting the sharp escalation in the prices of essential commodities across Andhra Pradesh.

The rally commenced at Krishnapuram Thana and concluded at Nalugukalla Mandapam, witnessing large-scale participation from party activists, local leaders, and citizens.

Addressing the demonstrators, YSRCP Tirupati constituency in-charge Bhumana Abhinay Reddy accused both the Central and State governments of utterly failing to stabilize daily living costs.

He stated that ordinary households are being forced to spend the bulk of their earnings on basic necessities.

Criticizing Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Abhinay Reddy stated that instead of delivering promised prosperity, the coalition government has imposed a crushing financial burden on poor and middle-class families.Reddy alleged that authorities are conveniently hiding behind the “El Niño” weather phenomenon as a pretext for sudden price hikes.

He warned that if inflation remains unchecked, the region could face a severe food crisis in the coming months. He emphasized that safeguarding consumer interests and maintaining affordable commodity rates remains a fundamental duty of the administration.

Warning the state leadership, Reddy declared that if immediate intervention is not made to curb rising prices, YSRCP will intensify its agitations with stronger statewide protests.

Throughout the march, party cadres raised loud slogans against the escalating cost of living and demanded urgent government measures to control inflation, reaffirming their commitment to fighting for public relief.
