More than 450 Ganesh idols immersed on 3rd day

Tirupati: Tirupati witnessed a grand Ganesh Nimajjanam on Wednesday as more than 450 idols were immersed on the third day of Vinayaka Chavithi festivities.

The mass immersion was conducted with religious fervour at Vinayaka Sagar on Karakambadi Road, drawing large crowds of devotees, who accompanied the idols in vibrant processions. Idols from various localities across the town were brought to the immersion site through the routes specifically marked by police. As the processions moved through streets, traditional music, drumbeats, and devotional chants filled the air, creating a festive and spiritual atmosphere. Devotees offered prayers and performed rituals before the idols were immersed in the sacred tank.

To ensure smooth and safe conduct of the event, the Municipal Corporation of Tirupati (MCT) made elaborate arrangements. Special cranes were deployed for the immersion of large-sized Ganesh idols, while expert swimmers were positioned in the water as a safety measure. Adequate lighting and other essential facilities were also provided at Vinayaka Sagar to manage the large gathering effectively.

Police personnel were stationed along all procession routes to regulate traffic and maintain order, ensuring that the event did not cause inconvenience to general public. Volunteers and members of Varasiddhi Vinayaka Mahotsava Committee actively monitored the processions and coordinated with various government departments for the successful completion of the immersion ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Varasidhi Vinayaka Nimajjana Committee convener Samanchi Srinivas expressed gratitude to revenue, police, and Municipal Corporation departments for their wholehearted support in conducting the ritual without any major issues. He praised the cooperation of devotees and volunteers, which helped maintain discipline throughout the event.

TTD Board member Bhanu Prakash Reddy, Nimajjana committee members RC Munikrishna, Gundala Gopinath Reddy participated in the immersion.
