Tirupati district hosted its sixth MSME workshop to promote the state’s “One Family – One Entrepreneur” mission

Collector Venkateswar and senior officials participating in the sixth MSME workshop in Tirupati on Tuesday to drive the “One Family – One Entrepreneur” initiative
Tirupati: As part of the Andhra Pradesh government’s drive to create at least one entrepreneur in every family, Tirupati district hosted its sixth Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) workshop at Kachapi Auditorium on Tuesday.
Senior officials, including DIC General Manager Chandrasekhar, DRDA Project Director Sobhan Babu, APIIC Zonal Manager Vijayabharat Reddy, MEPMA PD, bankers, and industry representatives attended.
District Collector Venkateswar stated that the state is conducting these workshops to boost industrial growth and ensure financial independence, particularly for women.
The “One Family – One Entrepreneur” initiative aims to transform households from job-seekers into job-creators, with self-help groups and the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme helping rural women achieve an annual household income of at least Rs. 1 lakh.
The Collector noted that expanding the MSME sector is crucial to reducing dependence on government jobs. Highlighting Tirupati’s industrial prowess, he pointed to Sri City—which employs over 70,000 people, including 32,000 women—alongside major clusters like Hero MotoCorp, Mambattu SEZ, and the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster.
Entrepreneurs were urged to adopt modern technology and digital marketing. The Collector emphasized that local specialties like Kalamkari, Venkatagiri sarees, and Narayanavanam handlooms require better branding akin to Araku coffee.
Furthermore, officials stressed financial discipline and urged eligible entrepreneurs to complete Udyam registrations to unlock government incentives and credit facilities.
