Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has announced changes in examination arrangements for the Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE), March 2027, to streamline examination administration and ensure clarity in question papers and the smooth conduct of examinations.

In a communication to all junior college principals across the state on Thursday, BIE secretary P Ranjit Bash outlined three major changes relating to answer booklets, Biology examinations and question papers for elective subjects.

Under the revised system, a uniform 32-page answer booklet will be provided for all general theory subjects. However, the existing 24-page answer booklet will continue for vocational courses without any change.

A major change has been introduced in the Biology examinations for both first- and second-year Intermediate students. Instead of separate OMR sheets for Botany and Zoology, students will be provided with a single OMR sheet along with a 40-page answer booklet.

The board has also decided to provide separate question papers for elective subjects under Part II in both first- and second-year examinations.

The subjects covered by this arrangement are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Civics, Economics, Commerce and History.

The board has instructed all junior college principals to bring the revised examination arrangements to the notice of teaching staff and students concerned.

They have also been directed to ensure strict compliance with the instructions issued by the Board from time to time for the systematic and efficient conduct of the March 2027 Intermediate Public Examinations.
