Vijayawada: The Eco Club of Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education (Deemed to be University) organised a tree plantation programme at the Girls Hostel premises on the occasion of World Ozone Day.
Vice-Chancellor Prof P Venkateswara Rao, Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Ratna Prasad, Registrar Dr Ravichand, Dean Dr Venkata Rao, Girls Hostel Warden Dr Suvarna Vani and Eco Club Coordinator Dr Kavitha participated in the programme. The dignitaries, along with Eco Club volunteers, planted saplings and highlighted the importance of protecting the ozone layer and promoting a greener and more sustainable environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof Venkateswara Rao stressed the need for students to actively participate in environmental conservation programmes and contribute to creating a healthy and sustainable environment. Eco Club Coordinator Dr Kavitha coordinated the programme.
A large number of students and Eco Club volunteers participated enthusiastically and took a pledge to protect the environment and promote ecological conservation.
