Vijayawada: LIC Women Employees' Coordination Committee AP convenor M Kameswari, addressing the LIC Employees Working Women Coordination Committee held here on Monday, said that thanks to the All India Insurance Employees' Association, the women employees working in the LIC are secure in their work places and in the most safe condition.
She explained the need to further strengthen the organisation. She also said that LIC women employees should support and express solidarity in order to support the unorganised women workers who are fighting against all odds and sexual harassment and who are deprived of their human and democratic rights. Kameswari appealed to all women employees in Machilipatnam to make success the ensuing AIIEA zonal conference to be held in Vijayawada in April 2021.
SK Geetha, vice-president of the South-central Zone Insurance Employees' Federation exhorted LIC working women to fight against the LIC divestment and privatisation of public sector enterprises and they must extend helping hand to the underprivileged women sections of the society.
Divisional convenor D Kiranmayi presented the report of activities which was unanimously adopted by the house and the convention unanimously elected D Kiranmayi as convenor and K Bhavani Devi, T Anasuya Rani and KV Ramana Kumari have been elected as the co-convenors.
LIC Employees' Union, Machilipatnam Division leaders, G Kishore Kumar, Ch Kaladhar, T Chandrapal, J Madhu, retired employees union leader, MN Patrudu, branch leader G Srinivas and others participated.
Many women employees and leaders took part in the conference.
