Visakhapatnam: A team from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, visited Satya Institute of Technology and Management (SITAM), Vizianagaram, to discuss implementing a Lean Agile programme. Aimed at equipping students and faculty members with industry-relevant skills, the programme integrates principles of Lean Manufacturing with Agile methodologies to improve operational efficiency, minimise waste, enhance quality, promote teamwork and strengthen problem-solving capabilities.

During the interaction, Sayeedeep, Prabha Narayan and Akshay, representing the Mizuho India Japan Study Centre at IIM-B, outlined the programme’s objectives, structure, delivery model, and expected outcomes.

They explained that the initiative draws upon the experience of the Lean Manufacturing Practices programme, launched in 2017 to strengthen collaboration between educational institutions and the manufacturing sector and develop a workforce equipped with industry-relevant competencies. The six-month programme will follow a hybrid learning model, combining online and in-person training. It will include digital learning platforms, online courses, faculty-led sessions, interactions with industry experts and practical assignments.
