Congress targets decisive victory in Graduates’ MLC polls
Hanumakonda: Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Thursday urged Congress leaders and workers to work in coordination to ensure a resounding victory for party candidate Ramreddy Sarvottam Reddy in the upcoming Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam graduates’ MLC elections.
Addressing a preparatory meeting at Sathya Sai Convention in Madikonda, Ponguleti accused the previous BRS government of closing 18 Singareni mines and adversely affecting the livelihoods of 40,000 workers. He alleged that the BRS was now shedding crocodile tears over the company despite failing to protect its interests during its decade in power.
He said the Congress government had taken steps to strengthen Singareni by participating in the auction of three mines.
Ponguleti said Congress and its allies held strength in 32 of the 34 Assembly constituencies across the three joint districts and urged the party to translate this advantage into electoral success.
With voter registration and renewal open until November 6, he called on party workers to help eligible graduates register through Form-18 and strengthen booth-level preparations.
Minister Dhanasari Anasuya Seethakka and several Congress legislators also urged workers to reach out to graduates and highlight the government’s welfare and development programmes.
Rajya Sabha member Vem Narender Reddy, Sarvottam Reddy and other party leaders attended the meeting.
