Hyderabad Liberation Day event highlights historical sacrifices
Hanumakonda: Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy said the liberation of Hyderabad State was the result of the sacrifices and struggles of several leaders and people, and warned against distorting history for political gains.
He was speaking at a Public Administration Day programme organised by Hanumakonda District Congress Committee president Inagala Venkatram Reddy at DCC Bhavan on Thursday. The programme began with the hoisting of the national flag by Venkatram Reddy. Warangal MP Dr Kadiyam Kavya, MLC Baswaraju Saraiah, State Mahila Congress president Errabelli Swarna and others attended.
MLA Naini recalled the sacrifices made during the freedom struggle and Hyderabad Liberation Movement, saying they enabled people to live in a democratic and free environment. He said Congress and several leaders played a significant role in the liberation of Hyderabad State and urged party workers to respect history.
He called upon Congress workers to remember the sacrifices of past leaders and continue working for democracy, social justice and public welfare.
