Hanumakonda: Parakala MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy said the Telangana government is committed to fulfilling the housing aspirations of poor families and making the state free of huts. On Wednesday, he distributed copies of the Indiramma Housing Scheme sanction proceedings to 168 eligible beneficiaries at his camp office in Parakala.

The beneficiaries included 81 from Atmakur mandal, 17 from Damera, 18 from Nadikuda, 38 from Parakala mandal and 14 from Parakala town. The MLA said houses would be sanctioned to all eligible beneficiaries in phases based on priority and merit, without political considerations. He urged beneficiaries to begin construction promptly and follow government guidelines. He said financial assistance through women’s self-help groups could also be utilised. Prakash Reddy alleged that the previous BRS government had failed to fulfil its housing promises and said the present government was prioritising the welfare of the poor.
