Hanumakonda: Telangana Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the government is focusing on public freedom, social justice and inclusive development while working to transform Hanumakonda-Warangal into a major city on the lines of Hyderabad.

Speaking at Public Administration Day celebrations in Hanumakonda on Thursday, Ponguleti paid tributes to Telangana martyrs at the Martyrs’ Stupa and hoisted the national flag at the Integrated District Offices Complex (IDOC).

The minister said the government had taken several welfare and development measures for farmers, women, the poor, students, youth and senior citizens during the last 33 months.

He highlighted the crop loan waiver benefiting 25.35 lakh farmer families, Rythu Bharosa assistance of Rs 36,000 crore and a Rs 500-per-quintal bonus for farmers.

Ponguleti said the Bhu Bharati Act aims to resolve land issues, while Mahalakshmi, Gruha Jyoti and subsidised LPG schemes support women. He said major investments were being made in Warangal’s drinking water, roads, infrastructure, healthcare and education. He added that Mamunur Airport, industries and improved connectivity would support the city’s transformation while preserving its Kakatiya heritage.
