Wanaparthy: The town was transformed into a hub of spirituality during the ‘Vishwa Shanti Maha Yagam’ on Sunday with chants of Vedic mantras, holy smoke rising from sacrificial fire pits, yaga-shala filled with devotion, and a divine atmosphere reflecting spirituality. The concluding ceremonies of the event, held with splendour over a fortnight under the spiritual guidance of Sri Krishna Jyothi Swaroopananda Swami, were filled with an atmosphere of devotional ecstasy.

Wanaparthy DCC chief Shivasena Reddy and his wife, Harsha Sri, along with family, participated in the ‘Ayuta Chandi Yagam’ near Marrikunta here and performed special prayers. Amid chanting of mantras by Vedic scholars, they offered ‘purnahuti’ and prayed for the well-being of the world.

Reddy remarked that the yagam had established Wanaparthy as a centre of spiritual grandeur. “Such spiritual programmes play a vital role in preserving culture and traditions and passing them on to future generations,” he said adding, the yagam stands as a testament to a noble spiritual resolve.

Vedic scholars blessed Reddy and his wife. Devotees received blessings from the Swamiji and experienced a profound spiritual connection.

Several participated in the poornahuti, including DCC vice-president Tirupataiah, OBC leader Nandimalla Chandramouli, municipal vice-chairman Madhusudan, and councillors among others.
