Warangal: The much-awaited Super Speciality Hospital in Warangal is nearing completion, with outpatient (OP) services scheduled to commence from Dasara, State Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced on Thursday. The hospital is expected to provide advanced healthcare facilities to patients across north Telangana, reducing the need to travel to Hyderabad for specialised treatment.

The Minister said construction work, which had remained incomplete during the previous government’s tenure, had been expedited and was now in its final stage. He added that the government was prioritising healthcare and education despite financial constraints.

Ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Dhanasari Sitakka, Rajya Sabha member Vem Narendar Reddy, Mahabubabad MP Porika Balaram Naik, MLAs Naini Rajender Reddy, K.R. Nagaraju and Revuri Prakash Reddy, MLC Basavaraju Saraiah, KUDA Chairperson Gundu Sudharani and the Collectors of Warangal and Hanumakonda inspected the hospital site.

During the visit, they reviewed construction progress and discussed pending works and preparations for launching services with officials.

Ponguleti said the hospital aimed to provide treatment on a par with Hyderabad’s Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS). Once fully operational, it is expected to serve patients from Warangal and neighbouring districts.

Meanwhile, the absence of local MLA Konda Surekha from the inspection drew attention, though no official reason was disclosed.
