Hanumakonda: Protests erupted across the joint Warangal district on Monday following the alleged prevention and attack of BRS MLAs and MLCs while they were attempting to enter the Telangana Assembly. BRS leaders organised demonstrations in Hanumakonda and Jangaon districts as part of the party’s statewide protest call.

Former Chief Whip and ex-MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar led a protest at Hanumakonda, disrupting traffic on the Warangal-Kazipet main road.

Police arrested Vinay Bhaskar and several BRS leaders and shifted them to Hanumakonda police station. Agitated party workers later burnt an effigy of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.

Former minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao led similar protests at Palakurthi and Thorrur, alleging police high-handedness against BRS legislators. BRS women activists also staged a protest in Palakurthi. Meanwhile, BRS workers held a demonstration at Cheriyala and submitted a complaint through Prajavani, demanding implementation of Congress’ election promises, declarations and guarantees.
