Kurnool Honour killing: II Town police say Chinna Eeranna and Pedda Eeranna, the father and uncle of Malleeshwari, were arrested while they were moving suspiciously near RTC bus stand and confessed to the crime later
Kurnool: Adoni II Town police on Friday arrested two persons, Chinna Eeranna and Pedda Eeranna, in connection with the murder of 35-year-old Adam Smith, that took place on Thursday. A physiotherapist, Buddanna alias Adam Smith, was brutally killed in a broad daylight by the two accused at RTC colony in Adoni.
After the incident the accused fled the scene on a motorbike. The police filed a case under Section 302 IPC and SC/ST, based on the complaint lodged by the deceased's wife Malleeshwari and took up investigation. II Town circle inspector P Sriramulu said while the police were on the look out for the accused, the duo was seen moving in a suspicious manner near Adoni RTC bus stand. They were immediately taken into custody.
During the course of interrogation, the two confessed to the crime. The accused were produced before the first class magistrate court in Adoni which in turn sent them to remand .
The CI said Chinna Eeranna and Pedda Eeranna who could not digest their daughter Malleeshwari marrying a person of lower caste, plotted to eliminate him.
