Three held for cricket betting
The West Zone Task Force officials on Wednesday arrested three cricket betting organisers P Mallesh (25), P Naresh (25) and B Mallikarjun (35) while accepting cricket betting money in a hotel at Langer house here.
Hyderabad: The West Zone Task Force officials on Wednesday arrested three cricket betting organisers P Mallesh (25), P Naresh (25) and B Mallikarjun (35) while accepting cricket betting money in a hotel at Langer house here.
The police seized net cash of Rs 32,000, one TV, one set top box, and nine cell phones from the possession of the accused. The accused were accepting betting from known and unknown punters directly and indirectly over cell phones.
Accused Mallesh was organising cricket betting for the past three months. He is collecting and distributing amounts of betting from nearly 15 to 20 punters in twin cities. The accused Naresh and Mallikarjun are working on commission basis. The apprehended accused along with seized property were handed over to the SHO, Langer House Police station for further action.
