New Delhi: Former Prime Minister of India Dr Manmohan Singh was admitted on Sunday night to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the national capital. The 87-year-old Dr Singh was admitted into the cardio-thoracic ward after he complained of chest congestion and uneasiness, doctors said.

A team of doctors attending on the prime minister is reported to have said that his parameters are stable and that he is under observation in the cardio-thoracic ward of the hospital. Dr Singh underwent successful coronary bypass surgery at AIIMS in 2009.

Meanwhile, the Congress party posted a tweet wishing the former Prime Minister a speedy recovery.
