Murder plot: Woman loses husband, lover as both men drowned in lake

Surat: In an incident, a woman planned to murder her husband over developing an illegal affair with her boyfriend went horribly wrong when both men drowned in the lake. This incident happened near Kosam Kantara village on Monday night.

Going into details, Khushbu Patel, a teacher working at public school, planned to kill her husband Kamal (35) with the help of her boyfriend Tushar Patel (28). As per the plan, she told Kamal to come and bring their daughter from Variav village along. On reaching near the lake, Khushbu asked her husband to stop at the lake so that she can attend nature's call. When Kamal stopped his bike, her boyfriend, who was already present there attacked on Kamal.

Tushar tried to push Kamal into the lake, but Kamal tightly gripped his shirt collar and pulled him along, resulting in the death of both men. Khushbu, who became shocked by the unexpected incident, called some locals for help. Their bodies fished out on Tuesday.

On receiving the information, the police reached the spot, registered a case. The police investigation revealed Khushbu's involvement in the murder plan and arrested her.
