Anganwadi workers’ sports and games begin
Anganwadi workers, helpers and children inter-district sports and games began at Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) stadium in the city on Tuesday. Andhra Pradesh Women and Child Welfare Department have conducted the inter-district tournament on the occasion of World Womans’ Day celebrations.

Nearly 1,040 women players are taking part in the sports and games activities. Women and Child Welfare Department Joint Director (JD) Swarna Latha and Regional Joint Director (RJD) S Vidyavathi jointly inaugurated the competitions.
Speaking on the occasion JD Swarna Latha said that earlier, competitions were conducted in ICDS Project Level, District level and first three position teams came to the state level competitions.
Running, Speed Walking, Kabaddi, Throwball, Debate and Quiz competitions are being conducted in under-30, above 31 and above 45 categories, she added. Women and Child Welfare Department Project Director K Krishna Kumari and other officers participated in the inaugural programme.
