Eluru: The district education department is making elaborate arrangements to conduct SSC examinations scheduled to commence from March 15 to 29.

Reviewing the examination arrangements at a meeting held here on Monday, the District Collector, K Bhaskar informed that 239 centres had been set up for the SSC examinations. He warned that if any mass copying found in the examinations, the concerned invigilators would also be suspended, besides taking departmental action. The invigilators should take responsibility to curb the mass copying or copying in the exams. He also warned that if any news appeared in the media about the mass copying or copying, the invigilators would be punished.

He said that about 50,484 students would be attending for the SSC examinations in the district. He directed the Mandal Tahsildars to set up sitting squads in all the 239 examination centres. He said that it was evident that the teachers did not teach the lessons properly. Instead, they would inform the students about the bit papers and encourage copying over the years.

He directed the officials to set up first aid centres in all the examination centres and impose the prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC. He also directed to close all the Xerox centres near the examination centres. He directed the officials to arrange police security and 14 squads for the examinations. District Educational Officer Renuka and other officials participated in the review meeting.
